Margaret Tucker Hostel for Girls Inc. is a support and service organization based in Fairfield, Victoria. It provides assistance to Aboriginal women and young people aged 15 to 18 who are experiencing homelessness, aiming to promote independence and confidence in young women. The organisation was looking for a board management solution that would help speeds up and simplify board meeting preparation.
Challenges faced by the organisation included:
- Manual preparation of monthly board agenda and packet was time-consuming.
- Coordinating and keeping track of updates and paperwork was difficult.
- Ensuring all board members received up-to-date materials at the same time was a challenge.
- Reliance on paper copies for agenda and meeting materials made it difficult to maintain historical records.
By implementing BoardEffect, Margaret Tucker Hostel was able to streamline and simplify their board meeting preparation process. The platform also provides a centralised location to store all board-related materials, making it easy to access and share updated agendas, minutes and key documents.
Using BoardEffect has saved the organisation time and enhanced its decision-making processes, while also increasing engagement among board members through easy access to board-related materials.
“I have enjoyed working in the platform for the past almost 12 months. I find it easy to move around in and there is help in the platform when I need that. I was able to use the help library a lot after my first training to further familiarize myself with the functions that I need to find out more about.” — Worrelle Blow, Manager
